Problem Note 48669: Drill-down functionality in Java graphs might not work correctly when the Java language setting is set to a non-English language
Drill-down functionality in Java graphs might not work correctly when the Java language setting is set to a non-English language. This problem typically occurs when using SAS/GRAPH® procedures such as GCHART and GPLOT to create a drill-down graph for the web using DEVICE=JAVA in the GOPTIONS statement.
This problem does not occur when the Java language setting is set to English. However, the problem does occur when the Java language setting is set to a non-English language value, such as Swedish or French. With a non-English Java language setting, several problems with drill-down functionality might occur.
If you are creating a custom drill-down Java graph using the HTML= option as part of your SAS/GRAPH syntax, the drill down does not work at all when the Java language setting is set to a language other than English. Nothing happens when you click on a bar or plot symbol in an attempt to drill down to a more detailed report or a web page.
If you are taking advantage of the default drill-down capability available with a Java-based graph, you can still drill down on the graph. However, the resulting detailed graph is displayed incorrectly and displays incorrect data tip information.
To circumvent the problem, do one of the following:
- Create your graphs using the ACTIVEX device driver instead of the JAVA device driver.
- Configure Java for the English language. To do this, from your Windows taskbar, click Start, then Control Panel, and then Java. In the Java Control Panel window, click the Java tab and then click View. In this window, modify the Runtime Parameter value so that it now looks like this:
-Duser.language=en
Click
OK and then
Apply. Restart your web browser in order for this change to take effect.
